The who
Professional
Hi!
I’m Elise, an integrative clinical nutritionist and health coach.
I’m passionate about uncovering how nutrition, lifestyle and orthomolecular medicine can enhance brain health and wellbeing. I place health and mental wellbeing at the core of my personal and professional identity.
I have a Graduate Diploma in Education and Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine and I am currently undertaking post graduate studies in Neuroscience. I am also a professional Teacher and Disability and Inclusion Adviser. I have completed courses in Neuroscience and the Female Brain, Mental Health First Aid, Metabolic, Immunologic, Neurologic, Digestive and Developmental Conditions (MINDD) and First Nations Cultural Awareness training.
My work across integrative nutrition, teaching and occupational therapy spaces has led to a rigorous integrative model of health care. My practice incorporates learnings from various modalities and industries to optimise an individual’s health and wellbeing.
From this unique experience I have developed skilful expertise in functional assessment, learning and engagement and behaviour change.
In private practice I listen deeply, assess and test strategically and skilfully and coach authentically to assist change.
I care about translating complex science into grassroots practical daily tools to optimise and connect an individual to their health and wellbeing.
Beyond all that, I am a lover of cheese, chocolate, outdoor adventures, dancing in the living room, comedy, art and sunrises.
Personal
Here’s the story about the name, Nevee.
‘Neve‘
- Italian – snow
- Irish (anglicised from Niamh) – bright, radiant, snowy, shine, beauty (from the bible – comforting, pleasant)
- Side note: I also love that bright can represent a light or a neural connection, spark or electricity.
‘e’
- A nickname given to me as a child by when my older brother and his best friend from across the road decided to come up with the shortest nickname in the world. I didn’t think it would stick. It did.
I love the name Neve. I would have called my daughter by this name. I did not have a daughter. I did not have a child. I am a woman, childless not by choice or a NOMO (not mother).
I still love the name. So, I chose to evolve and shape the grief that came to create a hope for others, when I thought there was no hope. The name is enriched with transformative positive change and a nod to my childhood nickname with the added ‘e’ on the end.
I said yes to the grief as a NOMO. I said yes to the grief with family, friendships and difficult people in my life both personally and professionally. I said yes to the grief of a close family member with schizophrenia. I said yes to the cultural grief alongside my First Nations extended family. I’ve learnt to do the work. It was not easy. It is still not easy.
I also said yes to joy, creativity, innovation and fun.
I found my light and I continue to evolve into my glowing self.
My vision is to empower others, so that you too, know you have a glowing self. A glowing self, ready to be revealed. Ready, to be a positive, bright and shining ripple in our world.
Over the years I became disconnected with the nutrition and wellness industry. If you tick all the boxes, it will happen. If you tick all the boxes you will look and be a certain way. This is not true. I left the industry, but it never really left me.
I now see things differently and want others to know that you can heal, learn, grow, change, explore and play with food and wellbeing in a place of abundance, not deficit.
Nevee is a place where you can be your authentic self.
As a practitioner, I was always taught to find the cause. I do not believe this to be true, anymore. Whilst we can dive deep to the technical aspects of nutrition and body chemistry and lifestyle impact, a practitioner will never know your experiences and their impact on your internal landscape. Only you can peel back the onion layers as your mind, body and spirit choose.
I wonder, what is your story? It matters.
I wonder, what do you want to create for your life today? This matters.
I wonder, are you ready to commit to yourself? You matter.
Let’s light up our brains and our hearts, together.
Elise
